WARNING: What you are about to read is what the people from Muscle and Fitness Magazine and magazines like it don't want you to read. What you are about to read is all 100% true! What you are about to read is the truth about weightlifting and fitness magazines. Enjoy..
Weightlifting and fitness magazines, there are 100's, if not 1000's... FLEX, Muscle & Fitness, you know them all. Well, have you read any of them? If so, what did you think? You probably thought the same thing I thought after I read them for the first time back when I first started working out. I thought, "wow! what a great magazine! now I know everything I have to do to get big like the guys on the cover of the magazine! wow, look at this! professional bodybuilders giving out their workouts to the magazine! I can't wait to read it and use the exact same routine as them so I can get as big as them!" Yup, thats basically what I thought right after I read Muscle & Fitness magazine for the first time.
Do you wanna know what happened? I did the workouts in the magazine just like the "pro's" and the guys on the cover use. Do you wanna know what happened next? I saw 100% NO GAINS, NO RESULTS, NO NOTHING! It was a total waste of my time. I didn't get any bigger, I didn't get any stronger, all I did was waste a lot of my time, 6 months to be exact.
It took me 6 months of reading Muscle & Fitness and magazines like it and doing the workouts that were in them, until I finally came online and searched for weightlifting and bodybuilding information. After reading through a bunch of sites kind of like mine, it came to me. I realized why nothing I did that I read in those magazines worked for me even though the magazine said it would work and because it worked for the professional bodybuilders and it worked for the big guys on the cover of the magazine.
Simply put, all of those guys are on, or have been on, steroids. Believe it or not, its true. I remember reading about someone's routine where he did biceps 2 times a week. Each day he would do about 4 different exercises, 4 sets per exercise. So that's about a total of 15 sets per bicep workout, 2 bicep workouts a week, which equals that this guy did 30 sets a week for biceps. So I, being a beginner, figured that this guy is huge, and he does that much, so I will too. Do you know how many sets I do a week for my biceps now? 4 sets!!! Can you believe that.. 4 damn sets! I do 4, sometimes 5, sets a week for biceps. This is what works for me and I have seen huge results from it. Interesting huh?
It is interesting. Its interesting how all of the guys in the magazines say they do 20-30 sets a week per muscle and get soooo big, yet I do a lot less then that, and I see great results from it. You see, its the steroids that allow those guys to do 20-30 sets a week per muscle. If I did that much, I would be sooooo overtrained its not even funny. The steroids give these "magazine guys" the ability to recover faster from their workout. This means they can get away with doing so much. But us natural non-steriod using people CAN NOT.
This is how Muscle & Fitness magazine makes their money. Its a smart idea to tell you the truth. They put out a magazine read mainly by non-steroid using people which is filled with workout routines and workout information all written by guys on steroids. Then us natural people go out and use them, see no results from them and think to ourselves, "Hmm, why didn't this work? I can't figure it out. I know what I'll do, I'll buy next months Muscle & Fitness magazine to find out what I am doing wrong." This is how Muscle & Fitness sells their magazine. And maybe as an extra added bonus they will put something like "Get HUGE arms in 6 weeks!!!" on the cover" to help sell a few 1000 more magazines. That get huge arms in 6 weeks routine will probably end up being something similar to the 30 set bicep routine I was talking about earlier. I'm just waiting for these magazines to really make some money and put something like "Become 250lbs of pure, perfect muscle in just 4 minutes by using our secret, government protected, magical workout routine that was brought to us by aliens who got it directly from God!!" Just imagine all the magazines they'd sell for that issue!! LOL...
So, the moral of this story? Fitness magazines like Muscle & Fitness are pretty much useless in my opinion. They are written for people on steroids, by people on steroids, but are read by people who are not on steroids. I'm not saying every fitness magazine is like this, but the ones I've read are, and most others probably are too. So, now if you think about it for a second, you can get a better idea of why I made this website. Its here so you won't have to waste a 6 month subscription and 6 months of your time like I did.
